Author reads excerpts and introduces DOGGIE-MAIL

St. Louis, MO, Nov. 21st, 2006 – Sitcom star, Broadway showman, dancer with the stars and dog show host John O'Hurley has added the new title of author to his impressive list. Hudson Street Press recently debuted O'Hurley's "It's Okay to Miss the Bed on the First Jump: And Other Life Lessons I Learned from Dogs", a lighthearted and reflective exploration of how and why dogs have served as some of our most valuable and enlightened teachers.

Pet lovers can get a sneak preview of O'Hurley reading excerpts from "It's Okay to Miss the Bed on the First Jump" when they log on to www.petcentric.com. They can also watch a short video of John introducing DOGGIE-MAIL, an interactive email program with talking dogs.

When people log on to petcentric.com, the interactive DOGGIE-MAIL screen invites people to choose one of three dogs and customize the dog's wardrobe, props and scene. For example, choose from among a variety of scenes, including a red carpet and a dude ranch, wardrobes such as a feather boa and a Santa hat, and props ranging from sunglasses to a funny nose. Then choose a prerecorded message for the dog to speak or type in your own line and choose a voice. Even better, call an 800 number to record your own message in your own voice. Once the email has been customized, send the talking dog message to friends. Dog fans can send as many DOGGIE-MAILs as they like and beginning Nov. 20 can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a copy of O'Hurley's book or one of 25 grand prize packages filled with a bed, toys, a treat machine and other fun stuff for dogs.

O'Hurley will launch the DOGGIE-MAIL preview during the broadcast of The National Dog Show Presented by Purina®, which airs on NBC on Thanksgiving Day from Noon to 2 p.m. in all time zones. In addition to his color commentary with co-anchor and dog show expert, David Frei, O'Hurley will star in a short feature guaranteed to appeal to the millions of dog fanciers tuning in.
