Trainer Laura Moretz always enjoyed being around dogs growing up, but it wasn't until she adopted a very active Australian Shepherd that she realized her enthusiasm for them. Beginning with basic obedience training, Laura then advanced to more action-packed competitive activities such as flying disc and flyball. She quickly realized that working with dogs made her extremely happy, and so she decided to quit her corporate banking job and become a full-time training professional. Since then, Laura and her dog team have become 3-time North Carolina state champions, four-time finalists in the US Disc Dog Nationals, and two-time finalists in the US Disc Dog Internationals. Laura and her incredible canine team placed 6th at the 2006 US Disc Dog Nationals, competing against teams from the U.S., Japan and Europe. As a dog lover and advocate for pet safety, Laura travels across the country sharing her passion for dogs and entertaining audiences everywhere as a part of the Purina Incredible Dog Team.
Laura's entourage includes six incredible dogs that perform acrobatic routines all around the country. Riot, a 3 and a half-year-old Border Collie, is a dynamite flying disc and flyball athlete that loves to snuggle next to Laura. At 5 years old, Razor is multi-talented as she loves her flying disc and also runs anchor position on her flyball team. The spunky 2-year-old Dutch Shepherd Hammer, is full of endless energy and is constantly looking for her next playmate. Bindi, a 1-year-old red heeler mix was rescued from a shelter, and loves her new life playing with flying discs! Ticket, a 2-year-old Border Collie, has lots of “incredible dog” potential and is quickly learning the basics of catching a flying disc. Falcon, a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd, is the newest member of the team, and loves to jump onto Laura's back! Through performances with her canine team, Laura hopes to continue to educate pet owners on how to create the best bonding experience with your dog. Her greatest joy in dog training comes when owners begin to understand their dogs' behaviors.
When Laura is not traveling with her team to competitions and pet shows, she enjoys taking time to perform demos for rescue groups and humane societies in her hometown. She also works as the owner of Dog Training in Your Home. Her hobbies include reading crime novels, knitting, and competing in canine flyball tournaments.
