With a spacious 10 acres, the Purina Farms Canine Competition Center makes a
superb location for herding competitions, lure coursing or for oval or
straight-track whippet races. Developed specifically for field and test
competitions, the Competition Center is well suited to accommodate sanctioned
events.
The Canine Competition Center contains a lighted 100 x 200-foot A course; a B
course; and a lighted round pen that is used for beginning dogs and instinct
testing. Gravel parking is provided, along with tents and equipment.
Purina Farms also supplies more than 100 Katahdin/Barbados Cross sheep that are
herded on a regular basis. There is no fee for use of the Competition Center.
TESTIMONIALS
Here are testimonials from people who have recently held events at the Canine
Competition Center that attest to its first-rate accommodations.
"Purina Farms is the only facility in the nation able to
accommodate the variety of events a specialty such as ours requires. When we
stage a specialty, we need areas to accommodate agility, conformation, herding,
obedience and tracking, plus vending and education space. The staff bends over
backward to help make things run smoothly."
Bob Tainsh M.D., 2000 AKC delegate
Border Collie Society of America
"The great thing about holding an event at Purina Farms is
that the staff is so responsive. You can ask them for just about anything, and
they'll get it for you."
Mike Slater, Trial Chairman
1999 American Whippet Club
National Specialty Field Trial
